Hello Friends,
There's an energy here that's truly exciting. Based on invaluable advice from industry professionals and the data from your wonderful engagement, this platform is evolving.
We are building a founding team of passionate volunteers who are starting professionals in media. I hope this platform is our chance to gain the kind of experience that could define a resume.
I am currently only working on this project on the weekends, so I' haven’t been able to do a lot, but I thought this is a good moment to share list of possible tasks that we would love some volunteer help with if you have 2 or 3 hours a week. (p.s for article writers and film/tv reviewers who establish 5-10 pieces, I am looking into the possibility of getting media passes to some film festivals.) The following positions also makes your cv look a lot more professional.
Editor: Responsibilities include checking the editorial calendar and conducting first-round edits for fact-checking, clarity, tone, and structure.
Social Media strategist: develops the posting strategy for each platform to make a schedule.
Graphic designer: create some new designes and develop the brand identity.
Audiance strategist: Manages the newsletter, replying to comments, and keeps an eye on the social media schedule.
Writers (x3): writes an article or a review once a week (or more if you have some past homeworks or reviews or want to build a portfolio fast). The platform is in the inital research phase so there are no big restrictions on what you can cover so you can write articles or reviews on anything related to media (ads, XR, theater, film, games, AI in media…). Right now, the nichest posts get the most clicks, so if you wanna cover some random film that is only avilable in film festivals, Be my guest! The random short film review I have on the website is doing an average 25 clicks per day with an average 1+ minute staying time on the page.
Booklet writers/designers (x3): This is like a little manual/magazine that will be sent around as a pdf. The booklet will cover an important topic (like how are the film festivals changing this year) The booklet will look great in a portolio and establish you as a thought leader.
One time writer? you can submit via the following form for editorial review: forms.gle/SwLLvEV48qgSrcY8A
Anyway as you guys see, it is all a bit of an experiment and depends on how many people want to do what. so kinda like if no one wants to do the booklet we won’t do it. Please feel free to fill in the following form with all your ideas and feedback and which postition you would like to do.
Have a great day. Will keep you updated.
Best, Suzie
